Extensions are very normal and filing an extension is not a bad thing with proper planning. It is
not possible to file all tax returns by original due dates given the timing of when clients receive
tax information and the extreme time crunch of tax season. An extension will grant more time to
file the tax return, and there are no penalties or fees for the filing of the extension. However, it
will not grant more time to pay your taxes. To avoid penalties, we can estimate your tax
exposure before the original deadline and recommend tax payments to be made before the
original due date and in advance of the extended filing.
